Mario and Cappy must collect power moons to power up their ship, the Odyssey, to travel to different kingdoms. The game takes the player on a journey through various kingdoms, each with its unique theme and enemies.
Mario is now forced to rely on a new ally, a sentient hat named Cappy, to rescue Peach and defeat Bowser. However, Bowser has a new plan this time – to marry Princess Peach himself! Bowser and his minions also steal Mario’s trusty hat, which serves as his primary weapon. The story of Super Mario Odyssey begins with Mario trying to save Princess Peach from Bowser. The game follows Mario as he travels to various kingdoms in search of Princess Peach, who has been kidnapped by Bowser, the game’s main antagonist.
